I prime mine with the wind screen on and I will heat the tank with my hands and don’t need the straws, it will put fuel out of the jet. But I have been using both of mine since the 1960’s. I have heated MRE’s in plastic before many times.

Can you throw high kicks like MMA style head level in these kicks and do Jiujitsu in them with the stretch on the crotch or will it rip or restrict?

Appears to be a great knife. Maybe you set yourself up for disappointment that isn't really there when you start looking at other knives. This would be easy to do since there are a million other bushcraft knives out there vying for our attention. A lot of really good ones, too. But how many knives do you need? A couple, three, maybe four? To do different things. I've got a few. Looking to add one. Could be this Condor.

I find the Companion's handle much more ergonomic. I find the Craftline handles to be somewhat uncomfortable. Just doesn't seem to fit my hand.

Wish they were making them as nice as the one in this video now a days. Different Sheath and what looks to be an untreated handle. The head doesn't have that dark colour to it now either.

I like to wrap Paracord under ranger bands on sheath.

I got them around my Gerber Strong Arm to hold a small flashlight, lighter and knife sharpener.

Smaller bands stretch better and easier over most gear. Half inch or less usually.

😂You need to throw out this cover and sew a new one from thick leather.

6 years later, how's the blade holding up

Mora knives are wonderful. My favorite is the Kansbol. It has a 90 degree spine and the front of the knife has a different grind that is great for food prep. 🎸🔪

NEVER use an additional external windscreen with this stove!!! The one that is on the stove is designed for the correct temperature of the device. An external windscreen will increase pressure and may cause an explosion. I have seen pictures of Svea 123 stoves with the bottom blown out from using a second windscreen.

Not a patch on the “salt and pepper” packs, they are absolutely superb and if you need waterproof, the later ones are rubber coated but with the same excellent leather carrying straps.

Interesting piece of information on leather care, only treat it once a year, i see you’re using wax, does that hold true for other leather care product like leather conditioners and cleaners and waterproof and treatment oils like mink oil for example?

The R is not my first choice, to many moving parts with the self cleaning needle.. I find it doesn't put out as much BTU's as the non cleaning version.. The drawback is you need to bring an extra tool the cleaning pick.

I recently purchased two of those Nalgene water canteens (blue) Dating for 2022 but no "Blackhawk" imprint. I use 2 water bottles to USGI stainless steel canteens with the butterfly handles 2 stainless steel lids by GAK outdoors. I carry two of each on a utility belt with a butt pack holding an ammo box with rice and canned meat to cook with an Esbit Stove. I do want to get a 2/4 insulated thermos maybe Stanley metal bottle so I can hold hot liquids after purifying water. After holding the containers I'm using Condor small utility pouchs with the Large Utility Pouch to hold a pair of Trangia aluminum mess tins.
